Kilshannig 1-15 Ballyhooly 2-09
Kilshannig claimed another win in the Division 1 Football League following their victory over Ballyhooly on Sunday last in Glantane. Their eight successive league win ensured top spot in the league table as they progress to the semi finals of the competition. Ballyhooly though provided Kilshannig with a tough encounter and looked like ending Kilshannig's winning run as they led by 2 points with under ten minutes remaining. Kilshannig however showed their strength to finish strongly in the closing stages to run out three point winners. The home side looked comfortable in the opening half, dominating for most parts with Denis Clogan, Darragh Mahoney, Darren O'Riordan and Joseph Cronin all hitting well taken scores to open up a 0-9 to 0-3 interval lead. However, the game turned dramatically in the second period as Ballyhooly came more and more into the game. Kilshannig missed a superb chance to extend their lead, missing a penalty midway through the half before two quick goals as well as a number of fine points put Ballyhooly into the lead, 2-08 to 0-12. Kilshannig though replied excellently with Damien Murphy getting the all important goal while Tadhg O'Sullivan and Jack Kearney added late points to secure a close but deserving victory.
