Kilshannig 4-16 Clyda Rovers 0-13

Kilshannig were comfortable victors over neighbours Clyda Rovers in their Division 2 Hurling League clash at Glantane on Tuesday evening. Kilshannig set out their intentions early on with Dylan O'Callaghan pointing in the opening seconds while well taken points from Killian O'Hanlon and Kevin O'Flynn moved the home side 0-6 to 0-3 ahead at the end of the opening quarter. Two quick points for Clyda cut the margin to one but Kilshannig finished the half superbly with with an unanswered 2-3 to push them into a commandable lead. Firstly, Denis Clogan found the net, flicking to the Clyda net after Dylan O'Callaghan's attempt was saved. Trevor O'Regan added a second soon after as he cut through the Clyda defence before late points from Clogan and Damien Murphy gave Kilshannig a deserved 2-9 to 0-5 half time lead. Kilshannig entered the second half in a relatively comfortable position and they maintained their lead with both sides trading points. Midway through the half they ended any hopes of a Clyda comeback with O'Hanlon and O'Regan adding two goals in quick succession to move further ahead. Some fine points were added late on from both sides but it mattered little at this stage as Kilshannig ran out convincing winners.
