Footballers Continue Championship Preparation With League Win

Kilshannig's final Division 1 Football League game prior to the opening round of the championship resulted in a 1-10 to 0-07 win over Mallow in Mallow on Sunday morning, In a tough encounter throughout Kilshannig held a slight lead at the break, 0-5 to 0-3. Kilshannig pushed on in the second period with a goal midway through the half putting daylight between the teams as Kilshannig ran out six point winners.
Attention now turns to the Junior A Football Championship 1st Round against Buttevant, next Saturday 9th May in Churchtown at 7pm. *Please note change of venue.
The sides last championship meeting was in 2013 with Buttevant claiming a narrow 1-16 to 2-12 semi final win and another close encounter is expected.
